Christmas Pantomime ( Cinderella-Cenicienta)

A pantomime is a musical-comedy theatrical production mostly performed at Christmas. I think you won´t find the video hard to understand. Enjoy!

Friday 10 December 2010

Jesús, Ángela, María y Bea

Your exposition could have been far better. I know you have prepared it carefully and that you could have talked without looking at the paper, but don´t worry! I understand it´s the first time you talked in English in front of your classmates.

Well done!

Patricia, Ana Álvarez y las hermanas Barrera

The slides can´t be shown as we saw them in class. Maybe it´s a different format. The slides seem too big, especially the words in capital letters, but, anyway, the pp is amazing.

Well done, girls!

JOHN LENNON ( The best singer ever!)

It´s been nearly 30 years ( next Wednesday) since John Lennon, one of the best known musicians of all times, was assassinated by a crazy Mark David Chapman. But his legend still lives on.

I´ve uploaded some songs for you to listen to, sing or just watch. They are worth a try. Hope you enjoy!

Who hasn´t listened to this beautiful song? The message is crystal clear...

Dad una oportunidad a la paz ( Give Peace a Chance!) A great pacifist Lennon was.

All you need is Love. Great song with plenty of different musical instruments.

In my Life. Easy to understand ( with Spanish and English subtitles).

PODCASTS

Hi there,

I have added some very useful websites where you can improve your listening skills. These sites are destinated to all the students who want to listen to some podcasts in their free time. Don´t worry! It´s not COMPULSORY!

I´d like you to create some podcasts this term. I know it´s dead easy, but you have to download some programs (audacity and more things) and record yourselves at home, so I´m afraid we cannot do this. You will be quite busy for this subject this term, which lasts less than two months.

Anyway, in this term we are going to work with topics related to those in selectividad. I hope you work hard and learn a lot of new vocab.

See you next week

P.S The more you listen the more you learn.

POEMS

Time Will Pass

Life is something you can not fake

you live and learn from each mistake

Sunny days or cloudy skies

Happy Greetings or Sad Goodbyes

So don't sit by and let time pass

For live each day like your last

This is something that you must do

if you expect to grow and stick it through

All the sadness all the pain wash

it away like the rain.

Fast or slow whatever your pace

take your time life is not a race.
